Behavioral Health Services at Glendale Memorial

Glendale Memorial's Behavioral Health and Wellness Center offers a wide range of behavioral health services dedicated to serving the community's needs.

We assess and treat adults and older adults with behavioral disorders such as depression, anxiety, memory loss and substance addictions, and psychoses such as schizophrenia.

Unlike many other behavioral health services, we treat the whole person - also providing integrated medical care and often diagnosing previously undetected physical illness in time for intervention.

Our services include:

Crossroads - inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care for adults and older adults who may require integrated medical care (818) 502-2362.

Alpha Treatment Center - inpatient and outpatient services for patients recovering from chemical dependency (818) 502-2300.

Alternatives - inpatient, outpatient and dual diagnosis (substance abuse and psychiatric) services for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender population (800) DIALGAY.

Identifying Symptoms That May Require Treatment
It is not uncommon for the losses and stress associated with aging, for example, to result in behavioral health disorders. Major life events can also trigger a change in one's mental health. The important thing to know is that help is available and recovery is possible. Mental illnesses are biologically based brain disorders. They cannot be overcome through will power and have nothing to do with a person's character or intelligence.

Some behavioral health symptoms to look for include:

  • Increased anxiety or isolation
  • Feelings of depression, despair, grief or sadness
  • Limited ability to perform activities of daily living
  • Changes in eating/sleeping patterns
  • Disorientation, delusions or hallucinations
  • Decline in cognitive ability
  • Poor impulse control
  • Aggressive behavior or suicidal thoughts
  • Decline in ability to care for themselves
  • Sudden mood changes
  • Memory losses
